Bio
At the core of the work of Irish artist Derick Smith lies an investigation into ideas of meaning-making within contemporary global society. Although presented as paintings, much of his work is sculptural in nature as it explores the boundaries of dry and wet materials – the static and the dynamic- as well as the common associations inherent in these traditional media themselves. The tone of his work is playful, rather than austere, as he aims to engage the viewer through elements of intrigue or surprise.
Smith’s work has been shown at solo exhibitions in New York, Munich and Dublin, group exhibitions in the U.K, U.S.A, Russia and is part of the Irish state art collection. He has furthermore participated in several artist residencies in Dublin, Munich and France.
The artist currently lives and works in Ireland.

Bio
Italian artist Ian Bertolucci is a performer, designer, and photographer as well as a painter. They graduated in 2019 from the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara with a specialization in painting and visual arts. Their realistic oil paintings are characterized by dense, bright colors, intense light, and strong contrasts, which together define – almost sculpt – incredibly lifelike forms. Their works, which show uncanny attention to detail, feature the common objects of daily life that can be found in most homes, but also elements of nature, animals, portraits, and much more.
“My artworks are my way of celebrating the moments that make life unique and special, whether they are ordinary or extraordinary. I believe that sometimes, due to the commitments and challenges that life presents us, we are unable to observe the beauty of what surrounds us. Art has the power to show us what often goes unnoticed – it has the ability to reveal the magic of little things.”
Ian Bertolucci currently lives and works in Viareggio, Italy.
